Getting Started
What Do I Need
to Get Started?
Everything you need to launch your party rental business on Gear. Most businesses are up and running in under an hour.
Equipment Inventory

- Category (e.g., Inflatables, Tables & Chairs, Tents)
- Quantity available and any serial numbers
- Safety requirements (age limits, weight limits, power needs)
Photos
Photos
High-quality photos make a huge difference in getting bookings. For each item, prepare:
- At least one clear hero image (front view, well-lit)
- Multiple angles showing the full item
- Size comparison or setup photos
- Action shots of equipment in use (optional but recommended)
- Photos should be at least 800x600 pixels

Gear uses Stripe to process payments directly to your bank account. You will need:
- A Stripe account (free to create at stripe.com)
- Business name and EIN/tax ID (or SSN for sole proprietors)
- Bank account for payouts

- During onboarding, Gear will walk you through connecting Stripe

Pro Tips
Quick Start Checklist
Start Small
You don't need every item photographed on day one. Add your most popular items first and expand over time.
Set Up Delivery Zones
Define your delivery area early. This helps customers know immediately if you serve their location.
Use Our Starter Templates
Gear includes waiver and agreement templates. Customize them for your business or use them as-is.
Enable Online Booking
Once your inventory is listed, your auto-generated booking site goes live immediately.
